WEDDING
DAY TIPS for the BRIDE and the BRIDAL PARTY!
Please pass these tips on to your Bridal Party for an enjoyable
experience and a pleasing result on your Wedding Day.
Tips for your Hairstyling
On the day of your wedding you should NOT wash your hair unless your
hair is extremely oily. Freshly washed hair can be very slippery
or fly away and difficult for your hairstylist to work with and could
potentially effect the end result. Leave your hair washing to
one or several days before. Hard to do, but will give you a
better result!
Do not straighten your hair after washing it if you plan to have
curls for the wedding hairstyle. Straightening can inhibit the
hairs ability to hold a curl and your curls may not last as long and
the hair may not curl as easy. Ask your hairstylist for more
advise on this, as each individual can be different.
Your face, the canvas!
For your make up artist to do you justice, they must have a great
canvas to begin with. This means your face should have been
looked after well before the wedding day with a good skin care
routine. You skin should be well hydrated. This is most
important. Please do not expect a wonderful result if your skin
is dry or flaky. Unfortunately make up only enhances this
problem. Drink plenty of water and ensure you exfoliate gently
on a regular basis prior to the wedding to remove all dead and flakey
skin. If you have problems with this type of skin problem please
get expert advice well before your big day!
On the day of your wedding, make sure you have a clean, lightly
moisturised face with no traces of mascara or other make up. If
you use eye drops or products that stay on the skin, be aware that
these can leave a residue on the skin and can sometimes be visible
when make up is applied. It is a good idea with eyedrops to make
sure you wipe up any excess and possibly avoid products that coat the
skin.
Please advise your make up artist if you are sensitive to any
products including latex, animal hair and SPF products. This
includes your Bridesmaids and others having make up, especially if
they have not had a trial.
If you have a lot of fine facial hair and are thinking of waxing
prior to your wedding, please ensure that it is done at least a week
prior. Patch waxing, particularly on the sides of the face can
leave indents where the waxing ends and can be quite visible once
foundation is applied. Upper lip and eyebrows are ok but still
it is not advisable to do in the last couple of days due to the risk
of wax burns. Try to do a week prior or if your hair regrows
quickly, pluck out new hairs as they grow.
If you cry during your wedding (our Atelier make up is waterproof)
gently dab your tears away, DO NOT WIPE as this will remove your make
up. Check that your make up artist is using a Waterproof
make up so you still have some on at the end of the day!
Other things to remember.
Have phone numbers handy eg. flowers, photographer etc, in case
someone is late or lost! Have safety pins around! Take
tissues!
